Description:
Description One of the Bay Areas premium classic rock (gigging) cover band seeks an experienced and capable rhythm guitar player. To keep it as plain and as simple as possible, here are the up front requirements (not trying to sound arrogant, just don't want to waste anyones time):
1 – Live playing experience. This means in front of an audience, with a band that had live people playing the instruments. Your bedroom, with a drum machine and your closet door mirror is not considered live playing experience.
2 – We run all of our instruments direct to the board (no amps on stage). Our drummer has the top of the line electronic kit, bass direct and my guitar through a high end floor processor. Provides a pristine stereo mix for the audience and a huge arena sound at any volume level. The only occasions that we break out the amps and acoustic drums are on the larger outdoor venues. Otherwise we keep it simple and dialed in tight. So you will need your own processor.
3 – Be able to learn the rhythm guitar (and some lead) for approximately 50 established songs that are in our rotation. Once these songs have been learned and are firing on all 8, we can discuss (as a band) the addition of new songs. Up front, learn what we have.
4 – No attitudes. We're a cover band! We all have day jobs and families and the dream of making it big in the music industry is not on our agenda. Plain and simple, we are hired and paid to get the people out on the dance floor, get em' hot and thirsty and sell drinks for the bar or club.
5 – Have fun with it. We all do this for the fun and enjoyment of playing music out in front of a live audience. That's what it's all about....right!
