Subject: Totally Wild 14 Stringed Laud! |
Description: Description This Laud is a really cool sounding instrument with 14 strings & is easy & fun to play! It\'s often used for Music like Afro-Cuban (Buena Vista Social Club), Reggae, Gypsy, South American, Jazz, Celtic & of course Belly Dancing tunes. This Laud came from Spain, purchased many years ago by a now retired Music Teacher (me), but must sell due to carpal tunnel of both wrists. The Spanish version of the middle-eastern Oud, it\'s a little over 32 inches long, has 18 frets with position markers, & a teardrop shaped body with F shaped sound holes. The headstock is open like on a classical Guitar, & it has regular geared tuners. The face is a beautiful Spanish Spruce. The 14 strings are tuned in 6 courses, & can be tuned like a Guitar, or in the original far out funky tuning: F# BB EE AAA DDD GGG(low to high). It\'s used alot for melody with underlying chords. You can find some seriously wild chords on it! This Laud has a skinny neck with low action & is very easy to play. I\'ll include basic info for replacement strings, some various tunings & transposing keys. It comes with it\'s own hardshell case. Why pay $800-1,000 for some hoity-toity new Laud & wait 10 years for the woods to age & the sound to mellow, when you can have my really nice one for $350! |
