Description We are: STAR FIST
Looking for a solid bass player to complete our band.
Local Bay Area musicians preferred.
Currently we're a singer, guitarist, and drummer.
We do definitely have our own unique sound & we play all original music.
Nonetheless, we would fall under the "Rock/ Alternative" category; if need be (just so you know that we are not a "Heavy Death Metal" band).
Some of our Music Band Influences: Pretenders, Plasmatics, Kennedys, Seven Dust, Fear Factory, Gwen Stephani, Doors, Jet, Alice in Chains, Zeppelin, Zappa, Vai, Metallica (old school), Disturbed, Floyd, Bjork, Blondie, Beatles, NIN, Type O, Gabriel, Reed, Iggy, Bowie, Pantera, Sound Garden, Clockhammer, Sabbath, Devo, & the unsigned bands of the Bay Area!
We have our own rehearsal studio in West Oakland (San Antonio District), have material, and we are ready to gig.
We practice at least 2-3 times (or more) a week, usually Tuesdays & Thursdays.
We are extremely motivated, and you should be as well.
We are all COMPLETELY dedicated to taking this all the way, and you should be too.
We're all solid on our instruments, and need someone who is going to add tasteful low end to the music.
Most of our songs have basslines that consist of little more than root notes, but it is important you know how to lock in with the drummer.
We are very serious about our project, but not such a serious crew.
We have awesome songs/ideas, a 24 hour studio (that we don't share), and the drive to take this thing all the way!!!

Here are a few things that we are looking for in a Bass Player:
1) You are a generally pleasant person. We'd much rather deal with easygoing cooperative people, than the opposite.
2) You are a dependable and solid musician.
3) You are professional, serious, willing & able to make a commitment.
4) You are able to go on the road (local and national) and commit to a practice schedule: at least 2 to 3 times a week.
5) You have/own professional & reliable equipment -AND- transportation.
6) You have your own equipment, and a method to move it, if needed.
7) You are a quick learner. You will need to learn your parts in a relatively short time period (several weeks) and with very limited band rehearsal.
8) You should have the ability to learn and play a song well.
9) You are able to play many styles of music...... (Rock, Alternative, Classic Rock, Indie, Metal, etc.)
10) You are not in it for the money. We have no idea what sort of money our gigs will pay.
11) You are business-minded, and can appreciate all aspects in having and growing as a working band.
12) You like to have fun, and have a good sense of humor.
13) & lastly PLEASE.....No substance or attitude problems!!!
