Bio:

South African born Singer, Songwriter and musician, Sky, is a true contemporary renaissance girl.

This multi talented lady plays several instruments including electric, 12 string and classical guitars as well as ethnic percussion instruments, the Turkish tuberleki, the African gembe and the drums.

She also sings, writes, records and produces her music from her home studio in New York, where she recently relocated to from South Beach.

And as if there was any time to spare, she is regularly performing with her band "The Sky Band" on the New York Rock scene at venues including Mo Pitkin's, The Pussycat Lounge, The Bitter End, Kenny's Castaways, The Village Underground and many more with funky bass player Kentucky Parkis and drummer Dave Dawson.

Before arriving in Florida, where The Sky Band was founded, Sky was performing and recording in Greece, where she resided and toured extensively for 8 years.

Her CD Credits include the Song "Lost Paradise" which is a collaboration with European rockers "Nightfall" for the Paradise Lost Tribute album under Record Label Holy Records in France.

Her next album is a full length CD for Greek rock band Snowblind, where Sky was involved in the production as well as performing backing vocals, released by Sleezey Rider Records.

After departing from her heavy rock roots, Sky continued to do studio work, developing her pop/rock sound, with noted recording engineers and producers such as Kostas Kalimeris of Universal Records at Sierra Studios, Lambros Sfiris at Praxis Studios, Best Of Studios and Emphasis Studios in Greece.

Among projects such as performing in the house band for Univision Television in Florida, Scoring the soundtrack for remade films such as "Hedda Garbler" by Ben Eld and being the "Hand double" for country recording artists such as Diedra Whatley, Sky has just as easily pleased large crowds when she performed at The European Rock Festival, where she was the only female artist selected from 50 European counties to perform at Lekavitos Stadium in Greece.

In 2006 she performed at the Goombay Festival in Florida and in 2005 was invited onstage to rap and sing with The Black Eyed Peas for an MTV Special at a South Beach night club.

When revisiting South Africa, she recorded scratch tracks for her unreleased songs with, award winning drummer and composer, Tulsa Pittaway. (Previously of the #1 Band in South Africa, Watershed (www.watershed.co.za) and presently with hot rock act Evolver (www.myspace.com/evolverband)

Locally Sky has recorded at Knotch Studios in Atlanta and with Sacario of Quiet Inc. in New york.

What makes such a well rounded performer and musician is her International travels, and diverse background.

Sky passed grade 5 ballet with honors from The Royal Academy of Dancing children's division and it was obvious from an early age that she was a hard worker, driven and dedicated to perfecting a craft.

She received a bursary at 11 years old to attend The South African School of Art, Dance, Drama and Music where she studied the Arts for four years.

Following her move to Greece, she studied at AKTO University of Art & Design in Greece for Computer Graphic animation and Multi-Media certification.

She also attended the Daphni Otheio of Music for Classical Guitar studies and began vocal coaching and diction under the watchful eye of respected voice trainer Mrs Papalefsopoulou.

More recently, in her pursuit to continuously grow and develop as an entity she has completed a Special Effects Makeup course at the School of visual arts in New York and already has several film, TV and music video credits under her belt. (www.skymua.com)

Although music has always been her first love, Sky'ss journey is not one about just that but rather about being a creative person with many facets. She is spiritual at the core, with a spicy scene of humor and a heart of gold. But don't let this sweetness fool you, Sky is an extremely talented bomb waiting to explode and her star is on the rise in NYC!
